Cherish Watoto Kenya

A child living in the Kibera slum is a child who endures atrocious living conditions, in an area where diseases abound and where crime is an ever-present danger. Early in their young lives many are orphaned by AIDS or political violence. With no family to support them, these children have no option but to resort to crime, drugs, forced marriage and even prostitution in order to survive.

CWK aims to give them a way out. Providing a safe place to live and the opportunity to start a formal education, CWK provides a real opportunity for these children to move out of the slums and towards a sustainable and healthy future, equipping them with the skills they need to find work and make their way in the world.

CWK supports Cheryls Childrens Home in Nairobi, set up and run by local people for vulnerable children.
